Brían F. O'Byrne acknowledged the Eighth Amendment in his powerful BAFTA acceptance speech
BAFTA BAFTA
LAST NIGHT, IRISH actor Brían F. O’Byrne took home a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in the series Little Boy Blue.
Little Boy Blue was a four-part ITV drama telling the story of the murder of schoolboy Rhys Jones, and how his death impacted the city of Liverpool. Brían, who has visibly shocked by his win, told the audience that he hadn’t prepared a speech.
O’Byrne began by saying that it was not easy to play his role in Little Boy Blue:

Brían then took a moment to thank the NHS staff that have been looking after Irish women traveling for healthcare for the last 35 years.
Brían wasn’t the only Irish actor to show solidarity last night. Sharon Horgan shared a photograph of her daughter wearing a ‘Yes’ badge on her Instagram story last night, too.
